Protein For Hair

Protein For Hair Matters, and We Do Protein For Hair Best

If you answered YES to any of these questions, then you need Nutress HAIR protein for hair products. For the vast majority of women, protein-based hair products are the best way to insure healthy, beautiful hair.

Why? Because our hair is 85% protein and 15% moisture. Most of the things we do to our hair robs it of these two vital components.

The best way to add protein to hair, and keep hair healthy, is to use a product with both protein and moisturizers. This combination assures you of maintaining proper moisture balance while the protein strengthens and protects your hair.

Nutress HAIR has been making protein for hair conditioning products for over 60 years. We were the first to develop and market a protein conditioner in the United States. We have perfected our process. This can only be done by extensive testing with different types of hair, different conditions and different stages of life.

Our products have high-grade moisturizers along with OUR EXCLUSIVE quaternized protein that penetrates and attaches to the cuticle layer of each hair strand. We use only select high performance ingredients and no fillers to interrupt the bonding and moisturizing process of these potent agents. We call this high-performance combination NuFusion™ Technology.

Whether you are repairing damaged hair or following a maintenance regimen, Nutress HAIR protein for hair products keep your hair healthy and strong. Our water soluble formulations prevent build-up on hair and scalp, giving you maximum performance and ease of use.

We complement our protein conditioner with sulfate-free shampoos, Stop Break Enhancer – our lightweight leave-in conditioner – and our Wrap Guard Foam Wrap Lotion that gives you maximum styling versatility with minimum build-up. We’re all about Pure Honest Performance – to make your life easier and your hair more beautiful.

Protein For Hair FAQs

Protein for hair treatments can lead to the hair feeling stiff and hard when overused, but the hair DOES need protein, especially when damaged. Protein for hair treatments are used to help “repair” damaged hair by filling in the hair shaft and giving it added strength and therefore longevity. Many women who use high-protein hair treatments report that some of the products made their hair feel “dry” or “hard”. This can sometimes be associated with breakage because the hair is more rigid. This is often due to the fact that the women often misuse the products in question. They think that they need a product when they don’t or the product isn’t suited for their hair type.

The fact is, that too much of any “beneficial” styling product can have negative effects. Deep conditioning treatments using cholesterol are great for very dry, coarse hair types, but will make mildly-dry medium hair types feel oily and flat, and can make fine hair types just look greasy. Protein for hair treatments are the same. They are meant to bolster the hair that has sustained damage, and generally are not used more than once a week in more severe cases of damage.

If you think you have damaged hair and need a protein treatment, try asking your stylist for a second opinion before you buy some treatment product and self-medicate the hair. You may just have some simple dry hair issues that are better handled by using a moisture-rich treatment, or the addition of an anti-frizz serum into your hair routine.

Hot curling:
Make sure your hair is properly moisturized before hot curling or using any heat tools. If it sounds like you are scraping your hair when you pull the iron down your hair shaft, then it is too dry. The iron should glide down the hair, and curls should be defined without using spritz or hairspray. Do apply spritz to hair before using heat tools because it will dry hair out and cause breakage. Curl hair section by section and leave curls undisturbed. Then spray a light finishing spray all over (lightly). Still, leave the curls undisturbed for at least five minutes, then style.

Braids, weaves, etc.:
False braids, waves, and even wigs can cause hair breakage. The chemicals used to make the hair can cause damage to your hair. Your hair rejects foreign substances much like every other part of your body. Also, the products will sometimes cause you to neglect your own hair and the dry condition will lead to more breakage. If you are going to war a wig for a special occasion, make sure that you moisturize your hair first, wrap it, and put on a wig cap. However, wearing wigs daily is not recommended.

Weaves not only break your hair because of the chemicals in the false hair mixing with your own hair, but he glue used to apply then pull your hair from the roots. It cannot be emphasized enough that these products will damage your hair, so steer clear of these.

Depending upon your level of damage with your hair will determine the type you need.

No matter the condition, texture or the way you style your hair, protein should be incorporated into your routine. Protein conditioning is an important component to getting and maintaining healthy long hair. Remember to always follow up your protein conditioner with a moisturizing conditioner!

If due to heat, the hair will _________________________________________
If you use an excessive amount of styling products, hair will dry up, flake, etc
If you use style with braids or extensions, ______________ tension and improper maintenance will . All these things can cause extensive hair damage.

To recapture healthy hair, properly cleanse, massive conditioning and appropriate styling techniques will be required

Nutress can properly clean and condition your hair and facilitate styling to prevent future damage and reduce the need for incessant use of multiple products.

If your hair is damaged and you want to repair it as quickly as possible, a once per week conditioning regimen is recommended. Nutress Protein Pack Conditioner contains both protein and moisturizing agents that give your hair a balanced, effective treatment without the need for additional steps or complicated product applications. Once your hair returns to healthy status, every other week is suggested, however, if you continue to use chemical treatments make sure to condition the hair one week prior and one week after these treatments.

There are other ways that protein gets depleted from the hair, so it’s still important to use protein products regularly. Heat, the sun, styling and even diet can rob your hair of healthy protein. If your hair is healthy we recommend a protein conditioning treatment once per month. However, if you are using styling products that dry out your hair, then conditioning every two weeks is suggested.

The proper protein, the proper blend of protein with moisturizers and the ease of use are the most compelling characteristics of our product.

For coarser hair, use more and leave on a bit longer, for it to penetrate. If hair is fine, use less and for shorter periods to keep hair from feeling limp due to being weighed down.

For styles which require heavy use of styling products, make sure hair is deep-cleansed and use more conditioner to penetrate and retain strength prior to styling. For more natural styles, less frequent conditioning is preferred, however, ample product should be used to ensure proper coverage. For longer styles, make sure to apply conditioner to the ends first and work your way up the shaft, to ensure more product is distributed to the most needed areas.

Proper shampooing to remove dirt and residual hair products is a necessity. This means thorough wetting and generally two shampoos, one to break down the build up of products and sebum and the second to thoroughly cleanse the scalp and hair. Hair should feel clean to the touch, and should be towel-dry, meaning that hair is dry to the touch buy not still wet. If hair is chemically treated, it’s best to wrap the hair in a towel and let it absorb the water to reduce the risk of aggravating the damaging effects of chemical treatments.

For any deep conditioner to work properly it needs enough time to penetrate the cuticle labor. Damaged hair has a negative charge and conditioners have a negative charge so the conditioning effects do happen quickly, however, heat and penetration time are necessary for treat deep conditioning to have it’s maximum effect. Maximum penetration usually occurs in 20 minutes and the absorption rate declines dramatically afterwards. Shorter time periods will have an impact, but we recommend 20 minutes. Our Instant Conditioner requires much less time, but offers less re-constructive benefits.

Most of the things we do to our hair rob it of protein and moisture. Our unique, balanced formula takes the worry out of supplying these two vital components back into your hair.

Due to our outstanding M-31 protein and high grade moisturizers, Nutress Hair Protein Conditioners repair existing damage and help prevent future damage by both penetrating the cuticle layer and attaching to the outside of the weakened areas of the cuticle layer of each hair strand. This creates inner strength and an outer shield of protection that prevents damage and restores hair to a healthy state. Less damage also means more confidence when applying various styling techniques and chemical treatments because your hair is strong, growing and resilient.

Color treated hair requires a higher level of moisturization and color protection from the sun to prevent drying and fading. People who spend a lot of time in the sun are especially vulnerable. Therefore, we have added extra moisturizers, extra vitamins and a UV sun-blocker to our color-treated version of Protein Pack Conditioner. Both products have the same damage protection and repair properties, so you are ensured an excellent outcome regardless of which version you choose.

DEFINITELY NOT! That is the way some conditioners work, but that is an unnatural state for the hair and not necessary for an effective protein conditioning treatment. Protein needs to both penetrate and provide surface protection for the hair. Hardening can’t thwart penetration into the shaft.
